Our first 10 days were spent in Cambodia and the rest of the month was spent traveling through Vietnam from the South to the North. We took 2 flights this month, both in Vietnam. One flight was from DaLat to DaNang and one from DaNang to Hanoi. We took several buses in both Cambodia and Vietnam. We had motorbike rentals in Kampot, Cambodia and Mui Ne, Vietnam.
We spent every night but 2 in a hotel or homestay this month and almost every stay included breakfast. We stayed a couple nights at a nicer hotel in DaNang and our last 2 nights in Hanoi in order to get some work done and have a good nights sleep. We spent 2 nights on a boat in HaLong Bay. This was a big splurge and well worth the money. The trip included all meals, accommodation and activities. We have split the cost 3 ways and it is reflected under food, accommodation and activities.
Besides the HaLong Bay cruise we also took a tour to the Cu Chi tunnels in Saigon, took a full day private tour in DaLat, visited a few temples in Hoi An and Hanoi, saw a water puppet show in Hanoi and had a few days of bicycle rentals. We also did a short boat tour in Kampot and visited the Killing Fields and Museums in Phnom Penh.
We had the cost of our Vietnam Visas this month as well, which we purchased in Phnom Penh for $60 each.
Our travel expenses for this month came out to $100.30 per day for both of us!
