After several nights in Shenzhen we left the big city for Yangshuo, a much smaller town on the Li River,  a 2-hour plane ride away.  We were lucky to have Bob, Simone’s dad, with us to show us the area and introduce us to his friends, he was also nice enough to pay for our plane tickets!  We spent 5 nights in Yangshuo and 2 nights in Guilin (where the airport is).  The weather was a little overcast and rainy so Jason wasn’t able to get the photos he had been dreaming of. Fish in Thailand

While on Koh Lanta, we wanted to get out and see some of the surrounding islands that we had heard so much about.  Since Jason was going diving in a different spot, we thought we’d both go out on a trip the day before. After spending five nights at Manta Ray Island, we headed three hours north on the ferry to Nanuya Island Resort.  You could say we were a bit hesitant because of our experience when arriving at the last island.  Would we like the food? Would there be a ton of people? Would there be mandatory eating times?
